Why Bike When You Can Drive New Luxury Cars in Style?
It’s becoming a hip thing for people to abandon their cars and pedal to work, the grocery store, a friend’s dinner party. Statistics and news reports keep coming out that celebrate the environmental impact of bikes, the health benefits of such mandatory exercise, and the roadways that become less congested. As gas prices rise and eco-consciousness grows, this alternative to cars has gained a lot of appeal. Professionals riding to work may sound absurd, but bikes certainly aren’t just for children. Adults continue to love them for the exercise and pleasure of riding around a park, but as a primary mode of transportation? Bikes have benefits; they’ll just never match up to the thrill of driving new luxury cars around town.
Bikes are an attractive alternative to cars for the money they save and the environmental impact they have, but neither argument is too compelling against new luxury cars. Especially in this economy, if you own a Ferrari or Maserati, you have the money to pay for driving it. And while it’s true that any use of gas has an environmental impact, luxury vehicles remain some of the most ecologically innovative. With hybrid models released from almost every major brand, and Fisker developing green technology that other manufacturers will soon replicate, these cars can do good things for the earth.
New luxury carshave always been much more than just a means of transportation. Every Ferrari is a piece of art, every Jaguar a sign of class. Whether it’s success or an appreciation of beauty, these vehicles symbolize something bikes never can. If you need to travel just a few blocks, it’s fine distance to bike, since you probably wouldn’t drive a Maserati such a short distance anyway. On the whole, though, there’s no great reason to give up driving a luxury car completely.
